Action really does speak louder than words! — It’s easy to read that and go straight to the analytics of everyone else’s actions and what they mean in regard to. But let’s be self-analytical instead and focus on what you actually can change — your own actions. How many times have you said:
Wishing and thinking is the easy part, but actually taking action on wants and needs is harder and requires a lot of energy. But the simple truth is -your results come from all you have chosen to put your energy on.
Look at your life as it is right now — you created all that. Both the good and the bad. Through daily actions, choices, and habits. This also means that you can re-frame this life into what you wish for it to be by redirecting your energy and action to create habits that serve what you want better.
The problem here is though that we can not have it all… or can we? Regardless, we do have some constraints that we all have to adhere to. We only have 24 hours in a day…
Wanting it all is natural, though our actions and current life show exactly what we want — because that is what we have decided to focus on and therefore made happen. I love to simplify things as an easy reminder in daily life and I often find myself remembering the story of the Two Wolves as a reminder that what I feed grows. The Two Wolfs is a story rooted in Native American wisdom, often attributed to the Cherokee tribe. It represents the internal struggles that reside within each one of us. According to this teaching, there are two wolves constantly battling within our hearts and minds. One represents goodness, embodying virtues like love, kindness, compassion, and empathy. The other symbolizes negativity, embracing traits such as anger, hatred, jealousy, and greed. The story emphasizes that the wolf that prevails is the one we choose to feed.
This simple metaphor encourages me to nurture positive qualities and starve the negative ones. This does not just relate to thoughts, but also to how you spend your energy and time, and what you choose to act on and not. In a day, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts, out of which, ~80% are negative. Being aware of what this does to you and how to take action towards what you want despite the constant battle of your two wolves can give you a superpower that might actually make you able to get everything you want!
Looking at your thoughts, habits and actions — which wolf are you feeding the most?
